ABOUT ME

My Dreams and Aspirations

I’ve been involved in Chinese Medicine  since 1989, but have been around alternative medicine my whole life. Throughout my childhood, both my parents instilled in me the important values that I apply to my treatments, such as the importance of integrity for wellbeing. Every day, I strive to both educate and heal my patients, empowering them to live better and healthier lives.

After studying 4 years full time in Sydney at the Sydney College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I completed an internship in China in 1992. I then travelled through China ,Tibet and Nepal before returning to Hangzhou Red Cross Hospital in China to do more intensive training in Paediatrics and Gynaecology in 1993. Upon returning to Australia I was lured to Newcastle by its relaxing pace, weather and lifestyle and immediately started my practice. In 2010 I completed 3 years of Mandarin studies at Newcastle University as part of a Bachelor of Arts Degree with the ultimate aim to translate Chinese medicine texts not yet available in the West. I have returned to China several times (since completing my internship) with my wife and children for travel, further research and to open my children's eyes to the East.

I am an AHPRA registered practitioner and an accredited member of the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association (AACMA).

1993

I travelled through China, Tibet and Nepal before returning to Hangzhou Red Cross Hospital and the Zhejiang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China to do more intensive training in Paediatrics and Gynaecology in 1993.
I returned to China and The Red Cross Hospital again in 2001 for a brief research visit.
In 2012 I revisited China with my family to give them more of an insight to what I do and to show them the many wonders of such a spectacular country.

STARTING UP

1993

Upon returning to Australia I was lured to Newcastle by its relaxing pace, weather and lifestyle and immediately started my practice at East-West Medical Centre - a multi modality clinic - where I remained for almost 6 years. After establishing myself there and needing more space to expand, I decided to start my own "stand alone" practice in Darby Street, Cooks Hill where I have been since 1998.

BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE

2010

In 2010 I completed 3 years of Mandarin studies at Newcastle University as part of a Bachelor of Arts Degree with the ultimate aim to translate Chinese medicine texts not yet available in the West. I have returned to China several times (since completing my internship) with my wife and children for travel, further research and to open my children's eyes to the East.
