This traditional treatment is often used alongside acupuncture.

Moxibustion involves a dried herb, artemesia vulgaris (mugwort), being burnt near the surface of the skin and has very strong warming properties. The warmth gently invigorates the flow of qi (energy) and blood to help alleviate pain and/or dispel pathogenic factors.

Traditionally, moxibustion is used to treat cold, stagnant conditions and to stimulate and smooth the flow of blood and energy.
